Honorary titel to Leo Segerman!
Leo Segerman has been granted the Finnish honorary title of Liikuntaneuvos
The President of Finland Sauli Niinistö has on December 3rd granted Leo Segerman, vice president of the FIB Executice Committee, the Finnish honorary title of Liikuntaneuvos.
This is a title granted by the President of Finland to highly merited citizens. Segerman, 65, was granted the title due to his long work locally and nationally and in the Federation of International Bandy.
-I feel humble and thankful. This is a massive indication of appreciation not only for my voluntary work but also for the sport of bandy, Segerman says.
Leo Segerman has a long and successful active bandy career behind him. He has played 84 international matches for Finland and scored 52 goals. He was named the bandy player of the year in Finland in 1980 and was part of the all-star team in the World Championship in 1981. During his international career, he won one World Championship silver and four bronze medals.
FIB would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Leo Segerman on this fine award, which is also a fine recognition of the Finnish bandy. FIB is of course extra proud that Leo Segerman also works in the FIB organization for the international bandy.
