Members

FIB is build up of the national unions and federations, which play bandy and accepts FIB regulations. Each country may be represented in FIB by only one national member. All organization within FIB recognizes each other as the main national governing body in their respective countries. An organization, which wants to join FIB, sends in the petition, which should be accompanied by the confirmation that the said organization will unconditionally accept FIB constitution and rules. The acceptance to FIB is officiated by the FIB Executive Board and is approved during FIB Congresses.

The FIB superior body in an annual Congress usually held during the world championships. Extraordinary congresses can be gathered by the demand of at least half FIB members or according to the FIB Board decision. The FIB President acts as Congress chairman, in his absence one of the Vice-Presidents fill in. The Congress considers various proposals to modify the FIB Constitution and approves them, reviews the reports, presented by the FIB Board and other committees, approves or rebukes their decisions, approves the FIB Board report and defines its term of office, elects FIB board members from the submitted list of candidates, and the president with 2 years term of office from the FIB Board members (from 2003 with 4 years terms), considers the membership applications, makes the decisions concerning the changes of the rules, determines the program and the locations of FIB competitions.

In addition to FIB Board, which consists of two representatives of each member-country, the following committees are elected during the Congress: executive, technical, womens, rules and referees, development. The FIB Board includes also FIB General Secretary. FIB holds World Championships for men, women, junior and youth teams between the member federations as well as European Champions Cup.
