WADA published 2025 Prohibited List
Yesterday, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) published the 2025 Prohibited List which was approved by WADA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) during its meeting on 12 September 2024 and enters into force on 1 January 2025.
Together with the Prohibited List, WADA also published the following documents:
- the 2025 Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes as compared to the 2024 Prohibited List; and
- the 2025 Monitoring Program which includes substances that are not on the Prohibited List, but that WADA wishes to monitor in order to detect potential patterns of misuse in sport.
The Prohibited List is one of the eight International Standards that are mandatory for all Signatories of the World Anti-Doping Code (Code). It designates which substances and methods are prohibited both in- and out-of-competition and which substances are banned in particular sports.
