FIB PARTICIPATED IN CONFERENCE ON CORRUPTION IN SPORT
Annual General Conference of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS)
The Annual General Conference of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport have been held today in Rome, Italy at the headquarter of Italian National Olympic Committee. Representatives from relevant national law enforcement, anti-corruption and government sports organizations participated in person and online, in addition to sports bodies, including FIB, represented by Attila Adamfi, General Secretary participating online.
The Conference was opened by IPACS Chair, Pâquerette Girard Zappelli, IOC Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Giovanni Malago, IOC Member and President of the Italian National Olympic Committee.
The Conference focused on the following topics:
- Review progress of the partnership, including the outcomes of the Task Forces, since the last Annual General Conference;
- Provide information and update on IPACS work on strengthening good governance to mitigate the risks of corruption in sport;
- Provide an overview of the newly established working group of IPACS focusing on the potential risks of AI for corruption, and its benefits for anti-corruption, in sport, and next steps;
- Update on cooperation between law enforcement and criminal justice authorities and sport organizations;
- Presentation the IPACS Strategic Roadmap 2024-2025 and discuss the next steps for the partnership;
- Appointment of the IPACS Chair and members of the Steering Committee for the term 2025-2026.
Mr. Urs Tschantz (Secretary of IDWG on Combating Corruption, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Switzerland) was appointed as new IPACS Chair for 2025-2026. FIB congratulates and wish him a successful term.
