FIB 2022 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Y17 BOYS

POSTPONED

The tournament was planned to be played in Kemerovo in March. The Federation of International Bandy (FIB) has decided to postpone the 2022 World Championship Y17 Boys in Russia after recommendations from International Sports Organizations caused by the conflict in Ukraine.

THIS IS KEMEROVO

Kemerovo is the admimistrative center of Kemerovo Oblast and an industrial city. The city is located at the confluence of the Iskitim river and the Tom river.

Kemerovo is situated in the big coal mining region of Kuznetsk Basin. The Kemerovo Oblast contains some of the largest coal deposits in the world and the diversity of coal produced here is recognised worldwide. Here you can see an exhibition about the history of mining in the region and about the coal industry. Evraz Group’s ore subsidiary, evrazruda, is a holding company for the production of coking coal from coal mines with a total production capacity of 1.5 billion tonnes of coke per year. Along with coal mining, the Kemerovo region is a big supplier of uranium and iron ore in terms of volume.

Kemerovo is situated a little less than 3700 kilometers east of Moscow or a little more than 4 hours by plane.

Kemerovo is home town to the Super League team Kuzbass. The team finished seventh in the Super League last winter and went to the playoffs but there the team lost in two straight games against Yenisei.
